Human networking
Is your company planning to expand into new
markets? Would Norway be an interesting market to
you? Would you like to have an agent in Norway, or
maybe establish a Norwegian division of your
company? Would you like to import Norwegian products
into your market? Don't you have a network of
contacts in Norway yet, but you would like to?
I those cases Kristiansen Consulting can assist
you building such a network, finding partners that
would be suitable for your needs. If you, for
instance need an agent, we will search for one whose
current product portfolio is such, that your products
fit well into it.
EU-countries in particular
We do not limit these services to countries
within the European Union. Foreign companies
operating out of EU-countries, however, do
enjoy certain special advantages in the
Norwegian market. Norway is not a member of the
European Union, but, at the start of the year
1994, Norway, along with Iceland and
Lichtenstein, entered into an agreement with the
EU, named
the Agreement on the European Economic
Area (EEA). Through this agreement
Norway opens the Norwegian market to
companies from EU-countries in the same way as
the market between two EU-countries is open.
Through this agreement Norway has also agreed to
implement the directives of the European Union
in the Norwegian laws and regulations. That, for instance, means that the same
technical requirements to a system apply in
Norway as within the European Union. It also
means that a tendering process will be similar
in Norway as in an EU country and that companies
based in EU-countries can offer their products
in Norway, and will be treated equally to
Norwegian competitors in doing so.
It is, however, normal that a customer will
require a foreign company to establish some kind
of local representation in order for them to win
a large contract, which is one reason why
networking is important.
